The AOEC acknowledges that we are uninvited settlers on the lands we call British Columbia. This land is unceded, stolen land; it is the ancestral, traditional territories of the First Nations people who have lived here since time immemorial. Wherever you are on the land it is stolen from First Peoples. We have a responsibility to acknowledge the colonial history of Canada and to ask ourselves how we benefited from this history and to move forward with real actions toward reconciliation.
